Watch Now: First Trailer For ‘Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser’

The first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated by some, not so anticipated by others sequel to David Spade‘s 2001 comedy Joe Dirt has been released online.

The movie, officially titled Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, will be released on Sony’s free movie and TV show streaming service Crackle sometime this summer. In May of 2014 Spade was talking about trying to make the movie and getting actors from the first movie to return, but that they were aiming to release on Crackle and that meant the budget would be far lower. These budget cuts are apparent in the first teaser, but it still looks like it could be fun for fans of the original.

You can check out the first trailer and a poster for Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser below.

In the movie, Joe Dirt is now a happily married man. But things take a turn for the worst when he finds himself transported to the recent past, forcing him to try to find his way back to his family.

Entertainment Weekly was the first to release the trailer and poster below, and Spade spoke about the movie to them:

“Joe “˜Keeps on keepin’ on.’ He’s married now and doing his best, but things don’t all go perfectly for him, as usual. Like he says in the movie, when he gets a setback, “˜I just keep getting stupider.'”

The actor also talked about what led to making the sequel:

“I’ve always liked the movie a lot. But I also go by feedback from people I see or [what they write] on Twitter and Instagram. Besides Tommy Boy, this is the most talked-about movie for me. After 10 years of people still asking about a sequel, we finally found a good way to do it”¦. Joe is a fun character to play. I’m stoked for everyone to see it.”

As you’ll see in the teaser, Spade was able to get some of those actors from the original to return for Beautiful Loser. They include Brittany Daniel, Adam Beach, Dennis Miller, and of course, the great Christopher Walken. New to the cast is Spade’s Rules of Engagement co-star Patrick Warburton and apparently Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray fame. Kid Rock’s replacement? Perhaps.
