Archie Vs. Sharknado: Who Will Prevail This Summer?
  |  @   |

For those of us simply can’t get enough Sharknado, fear not! The third installment of the somehow someway mega SyFy channel hit is coming this summer. And with it is coming the first Sharknado comic-crossover, Archie Vs. Sharknado! That’s right, one of America’s longest running comic characters is meeting up with”¦ flying sharks.

Archie, who first debuted during WWII (!!!) has found new life in crossover comics with some highly unlikely characters. Back in 2011, we got Archie Meets Kiss, and in 2013 Archie crossed the cultural zeitgeist in Archie Meets Glee. For those wondering if Archie can handle the danger”¦ Archie Vs. Predator came out this week. Now, as the killer weather formation moves down the east coast towards Washington DC (with President Marc Cuban and VP Ann Coulter), it will hit Archie’s fictional city of Riverdale. Maybe Ian Ziering and David Hasselhoff can help Archie, Betty, Veronica and the gang.

The 48-page “Shark-tacular” comic will feature art from Archie Comic book artist, Dan Parent, and dialogue written by Sharknado series director, Anthony Ferrante. Even better, the comic will debut in stores and in digital format on July 22nd, the same day as Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! debuts on SyFy channel. Together, they have the making of summer’s biggest, or least most ridiculous movie/comic combo.

While Archie has been around over 70 years, Sharknado has become a cultural phenomenon since debuting with its super-cheesy special effects in 2013. Millions flocked back to SyFy last summer to see more chainsaw on shark action in Sharknado 2. Each film has garnered tremendous buzz and attention not just from fans, but from celebrities, some who actively pursue roles. Part 3 will not only include “The Hoff” but also wrestler Chris Jericho, Bo Derek, Jerry Springer and NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick.
