Last week, Warner Bros. launched a major marketing campaign for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Director Zack Snyder had announced that a 15-minute IMAX event will be held in theaters across the nation in conjunction with the release of the film’s first trailer. While the trailer leak was unexpected, the studio continues to move forward with their plans to show 15 minutes of footage. In anticipation for this, we are getting two new, I guess you would call them, character posters. Only thing is, each poster has been defaced with the markings of the other title heroe. So if you see a Batman poster, you’ll see that it has been defaced with the Superman emblem, and vice-versa. And to get these posters, you’ll have to attend the event tonight. Hit the jump to check them out.
This is kind of a cool way to lead into the nearly year-long marketing campaign. These posters fall in line with the message of the trailer, and has us choosing sides. Plus, its another good look at Ben Affleck as Batman, who so far has only been seen with the bulky The Dark Knight Returns suit with glow eyes or seen facing away from us.
The posters premiered last night on Zack Snyder’s twitter account.
As you can see, you’ll be able to obtain these poster(s) at tonight’s event. Hopefully you already have your tickets.
Directed by Zack Snyder, using a script written by Chris Terrio (Argo) based on a draft by David Goyer, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Jason Momoa. It opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.
