Everyone’s favorite vigilante, Stephen Amell, has been busy filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 in New York City these days, as the character Casey Jones, possible love interest to Megan Fox‘s April O’Neill. Producer Michael Bay tweeted a photo of Amell in Jones regalia, which includes a hockey mask and hockey stick.

Back in March, the Arrow actor posted to Twitter after the news of his casting was announced. In his post, he wrote “Somebody find me a hockey mask!!!” and it looks like somebody did, because this first look at him in the sequel is in a hockey mask, carrying a hockey stick.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3, 2016, and we cannot wait. Amell is joined by Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Megan Fox, and Will Arnett as Vernon Fedwick. Amell’s Jones character will likely be Fox’s O’Neill’s love interest, and two prettier people could not have been found to match. Although critics were not too fond of the first incarnation with Megan Fox, it was a hit with audiences generating $485 million dollars worldwide. There is no official synopsis for the film as of yet, but we’ll keep a lookout for it.

Amell plays Oliver Queen aka the Arrow on The CW’s Arrow, as a playboy billionaire who was missing for five years and turned vigilante to clean up his city, Starling City. So the actor has a lot of practice with the vigilante role. He will bring a whole legion of Arrow fans who may normally not go see a TMNT movie out to see it, myself included.
