Last week’s episode upped the killer creativity ante. If you check out the episode 4 body count video below, you’ll know that Nance (Jessy Schram) is dead and that Lizzie “shocked” Mrs. Kenney. I totally called that before I saw it. Nance maybe would be alive if she didn’t go looking for trouble, but who are we kidding? Lizzie (Christina Ricci) would have gotten to her eventually. Emma (Clea DuVall) turned down Leslie’s (Dylan Taylor) offer to move forward in their relationship after some masterful Lizzie manipulation.

I guess the town really doesn’t truly believe that Lizzie did all that killing. If they really think she did all those atrocious acts of violence, nobody would ever antagonize her. I think Skipjack (Bradley Stryker) is starting to get the idea. Mrs. Kenney really should not have acted that way. It’s like she asked to be electrocuted. Siringo (Cole Hauser) should know better too. I suppose it is just incredible sexist arrogance. While they know her capability and culpability, they may not think such a sweet-faced little lady could get the jump on them.

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles 1.5 “Cold Storage” review: This show is going to break my heart, isn’t it? I can’t take it. Emma and Leslie are so goddamn cute, and Lizzie’s face is so friendly and terrifying, I know she’s going to kill Leslie. Emma has changed her mind, due to a surprise from Leslie (not telling you yet!). And Lizzie’s usual MO of pretending to be happy and supportive while feeling and planning (we think) something terrible applies here too. He did help Lizzie tremendously at the hearing about Nance. Doesn’t he deserve to be spared for that?

Hilliard (Jeff Wincott) and Siringo team up in the investigation following a lead. And by lead, I mean beating up Skipjack until he tells all he knows. but Lizzie is one step ahead of them. “Cold Storage” refers to Spencer being “on ice.” Lizzie figures out where the Spencer pictures came from. You can tell from our pictures below that she sets someone on fire on tonight’s episode.

Siringo is a dangerous yet exciting investigator. He and Isabel get a LOT closer. Her husband will probably get upset and smack her around, although he usually doesn’t need an excuse to do that.

Can everyone please check behind doorways and look in windows carefully before laying out all their plans like that? I mean, come on! There’s a serial killer on the loose – one that likes to make more loose ends as she ties up others.

I cannot believe how this episode ended. And I can’t believe that I can’t believe it. I should expect this.

Kudos to Lizzie on the tableau. She gets imagination props, definitely.

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles airs Sunday nights at 10pm ET on Lifetime.
