Constantine: The Television Series

We asked you to tweet your support of the NBC show Constantine. And you did. We asked you to pass the word and get other people involved saving the show. And you did. We asked you to issue death threats against NBC executives. And you…wait a second. No, we didn’t. That’s not just illegal, it’s immoral! What are you? Some sort of hellion? Or maybe you, like me, are a Hellblazer fan! I know there are a lot of us but sadly, this time, our voices went unheard. Or, more likely, the proof was NOT in the pudding as far the ratings went. Why didn’t more folks watch this series?

Daniel Cerone, Executive Producer of the show, took to Twitter earlier today to make the announcement. He did mention in that same tweet that Warner Bros. was looking for a new home for John Constantine and company.

I don’t know about you, but I definitely saw the show getting better and finding it’s groove. I am quite anxious to see a showdown between John and Manny! Rumors surfaced a while back about Constantine being moved to SyFy but that never panned out. I just hope that we see it reincarnated elsewhere to find some closure on the story and give this great DC Comics character another chance at life. Hellblazers unite! #SaveConstantine!

Constantine synopsis:

Based on the wildly popular comic book series “Hellblazer” from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, “Criminal Minds”) is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight – or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he’s decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line”Ž, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.

The cast also includes Harold Perrineau (“Lost”) as Manny and Charles Halford (“True Detective”) as Chas.

Writer Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist,” “Dexter”) serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (“Man of Steel,” “The Dark Knight Rises”). “Constantine” is produced from Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment.

  1. Such a disappointment! I agree the show was improving every week. I really hope another network will give this show another go. The creators definitely had it on the right track and Matt Ryan is a great Constantine.

  2. Yeah slow start, but it got better. Not amazing, but entertaining.

  3. I am so sad about this. I was really enjoying the show!! This makes 11 of the shows I watch that have been canceled… hmmm… is it me? 8-(

  4. I am so sick and tired of giving new shows a chance only to have them canceled at the end of season 1. Why does the network expect me, as a viewer, to invest time and interest in their product when they won’t do as much? Seems the networks are all too eager to cancel something risky and promising in favor of falling back on some rehash of something safe. I wish the big 3 would take a queue from USA or SyFy (damn you Sci-Fi Channel…still hate the new name!). While I don’t favor a lot of the shows on either network, at least they’re putting new and different ideas out there and are willing to tough it out a few seasons while growing their following. Honestly, I feel like NBC is the worst of the bunch. :::sigh:::
