CBS Unveils Pilot Trailers For ‘Supergirl,’ ‘Limitless,’ More!
  |  @   |

In addition to releasing their new fall primetime lineup on Wednesday, CBS revealed five trailers for several of their new shows. And you are in luck! We have pulled them all together here for you. Several of these will definitely be finding their way onto my television, no doubt about it.

Make sure to check out the trailers below.

First on the list is one I personally have been waiting for ever since my article about the first photos of Melissa Benoist in her costume. That’s right, I’m talking about Supergirl! The trailer is amazing, and even gives the viewer an idea about the direction the series will be taking. This newest superhero show will find its way to your television on Mondays starting in November, so be on the lookout!

It’s not a bird. It’s not a plane. It’s not a man. It’s Supergirl. In the new drama from the world of DC Comics, Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be. This fall on CBS.

The series Limitless is all about being the best you can possibly be. No, that’s not entirely correct, it’s about being the best human possible – smarter, stronger, and more aware of everything. The potential of this show is, well, limitless. Unfortunately, with great power comes other great powers trying to take it away from you. The relatively short-term effects are spectacular, but also come with a price. Tune in Mondays this fall to see what all the fuss is about.

Based on the 2011 feature, Limitless follows Brian Finch as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT. In this new drama from executive producer Bradley Cooper, explore what happens when a man unlocks his limitless potential. This Fall on CBS.

Next up is Angel From Hell, a quirky comedy that follows the adventures of a dermatologist as she comes to grips with what can only be described as a mixed blessing. We have all thought about guardian angels at one time or another, I’m sure. But how many people get stalked by theirs? This one promises to be a riot, and will show up in your listings on Thursdays, beginning in November. The trailer will have you laughing out loud in no time.

She may be crazy. She may be inappropriate. But like an angel, she is always there for you…whether you like it or not. Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson star in the new comedy Angel From Hell. This Fall on CBS.

Life In Pieces is a multi-generational comedy that is loaded with stars from both film and television. Featuring multiple stories told from different perspectives, the show really draws on the familiarity of our own families. Most people have at least one eccentric member, though many of us have several. This one will be out early in the fall, starting off on Mondays.

Whether you are on a date or at a funeral, this family’s experience feels all too familiar. Every week, watch four short stories about family in the new comedy Life in Pieces starring Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, and Colin Hanks. This Fall on CBS.

Last, but certainly not least, is a medical drama titled Code Black. Taking place in the nation’s busiest emergency room, this will follow the lives of doctors and nurses as they struggle to save lives in desperate situations. There also seems to be a focus on the humanity that drives these professionals to sacrifice so much for the betterment of their fellow man. You’ll be able to catch this gem on Wednesdays evenings.

In the new medical drama Code Black, Angels Memorial Hospital is the busiest ER in the nation. A “code black” occurs when there are more patients than resources, and you’re either praying for a miracle or performing one. This Fall on CBS.

What’s your take on these new and upcoming shows? I found myself interested in a couple that aren’t really my normal cup of tea, so to speak. You might be surprised, too.

  1. Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant? I can see beyond the quirky fish out of water thing that Supergirl has going on but Cat Grant is overwhelming. I really, really hope they tone her down or that she has minimal screen time. Cat Grant may kill this one for me.

  2. Watched all of the trailers and

Supergirl – Despite my feelings on Cat Grant, this one looks OK to me. Seems geared primarily towards women viewers but I’ll give it a shot, especially given DC’s current TV winning streak with other shows.

Limitless – I enjoyed the movie and am happy to see Bradley Cooper producing. Also nice to see that they haven’t completely abandoned his movie character either! Even though it’s not clear where this one is headed, I’ll buy in to it.

Angel from Hell – I find it hard to dislike Jane Lynch (never watched Glee but that was for other reasons). This one’s going to live or die by her performance and from what I’ve seen in the trailer, I think it has a fighting chance.

Life in Pieces – A decent cast and I enjoyed some of the performances, but I almost didn’t make it to the end of the trailer. Actually, I almost didn’t make it beyond the first segment about dating and the ex-fiance. I have a feeling this one won’t make it beyond season 1.

Code Black – Went into this one expecting an ER clone and…yeah…I think it’s just going to be another ER clone. I think the problem with code black is going to be the “code black” part. The ER is going to encounter an overwhelming number of patients that stretch the ERs resources each and every week? Sounds exhausting to me. I did like the preview and I will watch it when it debuts but depending on how frenetic the pacing is, I may burnout and give up before the show does.
