Last night’s Louie was not crazy scary like last week’s when “Awful Being,” as the scariest creature on earth was called in this episode, kept popping up. It actually was my favorite episode of Louie ever, even though I’m too scared to ever watch it again.
The episode opens with Louie (Louis C.K.) and Lilly (Hadley Delany), watching this very dramatic and moving play, so dramatic it seems like a parody of a dramatic and moving play. It stars Glenn Close, John Lithgow, Michael Cera, and Matthew Broderick. Hey… I wanna see that play! Afterward, Louie admonishes Lilly for texting while watching a pivotal scene, and says he wants her phone. She proceeds to tell him more about the history and content of the play (including spouting lines from said pivotal moment). He was properly sheepish and told her to keep the phone.
Louie is hosting a sleepover for Jane’s friends. That is so crazy. This is definitely going to be an awkward sleepover.
Pamela (Pamela Adlon) calls him and reluctantly does not admit that she misses him. The call gets sexy, which is SO wrong! The kids interrupt of course, and Pamela hangs up. We hear a male voice in the background. Uh-oh!
Bobby called and needed Louie to bail him out of jail. Louie had to bring all the girls, which was lucky because instead of waiting for hours, they wanted to get rid of the chaos. Have you ever hung out with bunches of adolescent girls? Lots of screaming, jumping, and giggling. And then they ask Bobby what happened. This is when things gets weird (oh THIS is where things get weird?). His story involves an old lady, a sandwich, and a goat. Yep. That’s what I said.
I enjoyed this episode. There wasn’t much Louie humiliation, which suits me fine.
