This is the end! It’s the last episode of the really fun ride known as The Lizzie Borden Chronicles! Spinning the tale of what life was like for Lizzie and Emma Borden (Christina Ricci and Clea DuVall) after the sensational trial of which she was acquitted, the story lands back in Fall River, and the blood never stops flowing.

Last week The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, gave us the Borden’s life after they left Fall River (after killing pretty much everybody). Lizzie became a teacher, while Emma became a catatonic mental patient in an asylum. Sterotypical of what we think of asylums in the 1890s, it had electric shock, rape, and death. If you had money, you got better accomadations. Less money, gave you a dungeon. Charlie Siringo’s (Cole Hauser) pals (in the forms of Chris Bauer and Matthew Le Nevez) found where Lizzie was after she was discovered by a soon-to-be-poisoned-reporter. Shooting up Fall River didn’t work, but they lucked out anyway (if you could call that luck). Both Lizzie and Emma murdered this episode. Lizzie killed the father of one of her students because he manipulated the boy into killing his mother and stepfather, then left him to the consequences. And Emma strapped the rape doctor to a chair in the crazy dungeon, in order to recreate a scene from The Walking Dead.

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles 1.8 “Capsize” review: You wanna talk about gruesome? How about, “Here’s the other one,” before an ear is dropped into a bucket. We are to assume that all of the doctor’s remains fit into that bloody bucket.

Emma is in Boston. She goes to Leslie’s (Dylan Taylor) family, who welcome her warmly, but seem the opposite of everything that Leslie was. They are a Boston mob family. Lizzie soon finds Emma though.

Priest: “God only forgives us if we are truly repentent and sorry of the wrongs we’ve committed.”
Lizzie: “Well that’s a problem.”

You’re so funny, Lizzie.

Lizzie has met her match in Adele Trotwood (GoT and Resurrection’s Michelle Fairley). I would not tangle with that lady, Lizzie. Just her stone face frightens me. They play tug-of-war with Emma. Who do you think will win? Emma is no longer a simpering yes-girl, willing to believe anyone, anymore.

The Pinkerton men find them (and that is after they found Lizzie in Maine, but she escaped), and there is an all out shootout at a party and then a hotel. You are made to think one side will win, and then they don’t. You know there should be more to the story.

The soundtrack – once again, a perfect supplement to the action of the episode.

It ended with enough end to satisfy, but with not enough end as well, to give the possibility of return should Lifetime so choose. The last face off is very intense.

Farewell, Lizzie Borden. Hope to see you again.
