Fans have been expecting it for a long, long time now. And today Bethesda Softworks has released the first official trailer confirming the existence of Fallout 4. Many thought that the game would be unveiled in a couple of weeks at Bethesda’s big first presentation at E3 2015, but yesterday a countdown clock was activated counting down to this morning and those anticipating the game knew that it was time.
Unlike most first trailers for Bethesda games, which are usually only a cinematic to make the game official, this first trailer offers plenty of in-game glimpses of the open world post apocalyptic adventure title.
Without further delay, do be sure to venture down below into the vault (where it’s safe, I swear) to watch the first trailer for Fallout 4.
The trailer also confirms one of the long whispered rumors about the game, that it would be set in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Something I as a fan of the games and as a New Englander find super duper extra exciting. I took my shirt off and ran around the room flailing my arms for five solid minutes. No joke.
Another important thing to note is that Fallout 4 is only being released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Many wondered if they would still try to fit it on Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, considering they’ve been working on it since 2011/2012. The hope among most, myself included, was that Bethesda was leaving the older consoles behind and focusing only on the current generation and PC, ensuring that the final product is as massive as it’s expected to be. Not so good news if you still only have an older console, good news for the rest of us.
The game will still be a part of Bethesda’s E3 presentation, making its official world premiere during the event on June 14th. The presentation begins at 10PM ET, and can be watched on Bethesda’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
Oh, and side note…is that a one Mr. Troy Baker I hear at the end?
