If you’re excited about the upcoming revival of the King’s Quest video game franchise, developer The Odd Gentlemen and publisher Sierra Games have released a series of videos giving us a behind the scenes peek into the making of the game. Be sure to also check out the world premiere trailer that was shown at the 2014 Game Awards if you missed it.
There’s four videos total, each focusing on something specific. The first video discusses the vision that went into bringing the series back to life. The second video covers the voice cast that’s been assembled for the game, which includes Christopher Lloyd, Tom Kenny, Zelda Williams, Wallace Shawn, Maggie Elizabeth Jones, and Josh Keaton. The third video offers a peek at some of the artwork that went into making the game. And, finally, the fourth video looks at the game’s music.
You can check out all four King’s Quest behind the scenes videos below.
DESCRIPTION:
Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, the new King’s Questâ„¢ reimagines all the charm, humor, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago. Old and grey, King Graham – the hero made legend in the original King’s Quest games – shares the extraordinary stories of his youth with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn, taking players back to the feats that shaped a kingdom.
And so begins an episodic saga that honors the core characters and familiar storylines of King Graham’s early adventures, setting up new chapters tied to – but independent of – the series that helped define Sierra and the adventure genre. Through these tales, a whole new generation can finally experience one of gaming’s most beloved journeys.
The new King’s Quest is currently set to arrive in the fall of 2015.
