‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ Trailer: This May Be IMF’s Last Mission
  |  @   |

Since Paramount rescheduled Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation for a July release – in order to get away from the huge competition that Star Wars: The Force Awakens presents – the studio has been on one big marketing push. It was only a few months ago when we saw the last trailer for the Tom Cruise starring vehicle.

In the film we learn that the U.S. government has disavowed the IMF (the spy agency that Ethan Hunt works for), on the cusp of a rogue nation rising to create chaos. It wouldn’t be much of a trailer without a huge stunt as a selling point, and it looks like the trailer wants to let us know that there will be quite a few of them. Check out the trailer below.

The new footage shows us what exactly Ethan was jumping into in the first trailer. So that should be a bit breathtaking. And apparently Ethan dies for a moment? But just for added comedy, he persuades Benji (Simon Pegg) to let him drive to get away from the bad guy.

Now on the more serious side, the trailer does shed some light on why Hunley (Alec Baldwin), a top member of the CIA, is to adamant on shutting down the IMF.

Directed and written by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation also stars Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, and Ving Rhames. McQuarrie previously wrote and directed Way of the Gun and Jack Reacher. He also worked on the screenplays for The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie, Jack the Giant Slayer, and Edge of Tomorrow.

Ethan and team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate – an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation opens in theaters on July 31, 2015.
