SYTYCD is in Detroit tonight, where they got season 10 champ Amy Yakima. The performers are trying out for Team Stage (trained dancers) or Team Street (perfected their craft on the streets), headed by All-stars Travis Wall and Stephen “tWitch” Boss, respectively. Judges Nigel Lithgoe, Paula Abdul, and Jason Derulo got wowed and “not” wowed by the dancers of Motor City. Here are a few nuggets of highlights and 2 little clips that are just a taste of the episode.

The 1st audition, Christine, did a jazz routine for Team Stage that blew me away. She was so graceful, yet quirky. She captivated the judges and captivated us. I think she’s gonna be in the Top 20.

Paula Abdul: “You are a bright light, a breath of fresh air #Everything!” Oh Paula. She wanted to put someone in her purse today.

The second audition was the Queen of Detroit aka Standing Ovation, and her animation was sick! There was a couple, one on Team Stage and one for Team Street who met on the audition line last year and are now engaged. She was adored by the judges. How do you think her fiance did? Watch it!

Mission is on a mission! Watch how he blessed the judges with his audition, then dancing with the teens he practically raised in dance. He was so good!

Whereas last week’s auditions were stage heavy, Detroit brought in lots of talent for Team Street. Don’t worry about your stage dancers though. They represent too. ANd don’t worry. You will see the Detroit Jit.

Wait until you see Samantha from The Bronx… That tough little girl made me cry.

This is going to be my favorite season! All I gotta say is Bam-Bam Season 30 of So You Think You Can Dance!
