Chris Hemsworth Joins ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot As Receptionist
  |  @   |

If you thought the only twist of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot being directed by Paul Feig (Spy, Bridesmaids) is that the group of ‘busters would be all female instead of the all-male team seen in the original two movies, you would apparently be wrong.

In keeping with the whole gender swap thing, Feig sent out a picture of The Avengers, Thor, and The Cabin in the Woods star Chris Hemsworth on the Twitter a bit ago, introducing him as “our receptionist” with the hashtag #whoyougonnacall. The receptionist role in the original movies was played by Annie Potts.

The primary cast of the movie playing the new Ghostbusters team consists of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. You can check out a picture of the group together at the SNL 40 after party if you missed it.

Details on the movie are being kept under wraps at the moment, so not much is known yet. Possible character descriptions surfaced not too long ago that can be read below, though these are unconfirmed:

– Erin Gabler: Works at Columbia, where she’s about to get tenure. She is former colleagues with Abby, with whom she co-wrote a book on the paranormal.
– Abby Bergman: After co-writing the book with Erin, she parted ways with her former colleague and pursues ghosts with a new partner, Jillian.
– Jillian: Abby’s new ghost-hunting partner.
– Patty: An MTA subway ticket employee who comes across the film’s main ghost.

This isn’t the only Ghostbusters project on the way, either. Sony has big plans for the franchise, including another movie that could potentially star Channing Tatum and be directed by brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, The Avengers: Infinity War), TV shows, merchandise, and more.

The Feig-directed Ghostbusters reboot is currently scheduled for a July 22, 2016 release.
