E3 2015: ‘Final Fantasy VII’ Remake, ‘Shenmue III’ Announced
  |  @   |

Old school gamers were treated to a pair of massive surprises during Sony’s E3 2015 press conference.

The first was a brief trailer that revealed that a remake of the all-time classic Final Fantasy VII is on the way. The second is the return of SEGA’s Shenmue series, which began in 1999 and was followed up with a sequel in 2001 but hasn’t been heard from since.

You can see trailers for the games below.

All we have for Final Fantasy VII is the trailer below, while Shenmue III is actually looking to Kickstarter to obtain the necessary funding to make the game. They’ve set a massive $2,000,000 goal, but if you want any indication of just how popular the original games are and how badly fans want to see a new game in the series, it has already earned over $1,000,000 of that goal and climbing rapidly with 31 days still remaining. You can see its Kickstarter video below, and find out more over at the Kickstarter campaign page.
