SDCC 2015: ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Panel

AMC The Walking Dead Companion Series Kim Dickens Cliff Curtis Cobalt Fear The Walking Dead

At San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, the cast and crew of AMC’s TWD prequel series, Fear The Walking Dead, hung out in Hall H gifting everyone with an exclusive trailer and premiere date, while also giving its already growing fan base some insight into how it would feel different from “the mother ship.”

Watch the panel highlights below.

Chris Hardwick was the moderator (appropriate), and included in the panel were executive producers Gale Ann Hurd, Dave Erickson, Greg Nicotero, and Dave Alpert, along with cast members Cliff Curtis (Travis), Kim Dickens (Madison), Frank Dillane (Nick), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Liza), Lorenzo James Henrie (Chris), and Ruben Blades (Daniel).

This panel was not as forthwith as The Walking Dead panel, but that is to be expected. Even though many of the behind the scenes people are the same, the actors are new to the show, it is not established yet, there is no guaranteed success. They did however, give a bit of an interesting perspective.

Gale Hurd on the different class dynamic:

“There’s an expectation that if you have money you can buy your way out of the apocalypse. That’s something we’ll be dealing with.”

Dave Alpert on leadership in the apocalypse (if there was no Rick Grimes type):

“What if there’s not such an obvious leader? What about someone who’s an English teacher, or a guidance counselor, and they’re having problems just dealing with the day-to-day-of living? Their lives are coming apart a little bit at the seams “” when the world is good “” and then you add on top of that the zombie apocalypse.”

Watch the rest to get the last bits.

Fear The Walking Dead premieres on AMC with a 6-episode season on August 23, 2015 at 9pm ET.
