Last week on Dominion, David Whele (Anthony Head) was back and as wild as ever. He gets kidnapped by Zoe (Christina Chong), and starts his manipulation games, trying to convince her that he can help her cause. Michael (Tom Wisdom) and Gabriel (Carl Beukes) are reunited, and after some fighting, decide to join together to defeat Julian (Simon Merrells). Back in New Delphi, Alex (Christopher Egan) and Noma (Kim Engelbrecht) find out that Julian is a dyad (half-human, half-angel), and is in posession of a jar of death that can can put lower angels into humans. This is how he made his weird trance-y 8-Ball army. When he tries that crap on Noma, she wigs out and steals the jar.

Dominion 2.5 “Son Of The Fallen” review: Gabriel and Michael are working together to destroy New Delphi, but Alex seems to be siding with Julian. We see flashbacks of Michael and Alex when he’s a kid.

“We can’t wait for our fathers to return Alex. We must fight our battles on our own.”

That killed me, even more so when Alex helped Michael get captured by the angel net. How could he betray him like that? Gabriel’s redeeming quality is his love and loyalty for Michael. Julian surprises them all by revealing that the angel part of his dyad-ness is Lyrae from Sodom and Gomorroh days. Michael does escape with the help of Alex’s childhood knife as a message (I think). Will it get through to Alex? In the meantime, they did capture Gabriel.

Arika’s (Shivani Ghai) treacherous plan was not that surprising to me. She has always been suspicious, but her bedroom talk with Dr. Daria (Florence Kasumba) confirmed it.

Claire put a bounty on Zoe’s head and now Zoe’s people try to kill her. Jasper gets shot, and David is able to escape. He seems to really be on Zoe’s side as he warns Zoe to get the V-1s out of the tunnels, and then blows them up. Claire realizes that David has started a civil war.

I love this show. It has everything I want and need in a sci-fi show – angels, monsters, Giles, explosions, ghosts, a bit of romance, war – everything. Right now it seems two completely different stories (New Delphi and Vega), but I cannot wait until these two merge.

William Shatner was at the Star Trek convention in Vegas this week and could not do his usual live-tweeting of Dominion. We understand, William Shatner.

Dominion airs Thursday nights at 10pm ET on Syfy.
