Pete’s Dragon is a live-action reimagined tale of the 1977 movie, and stars Howard and Robert Redford, along with Wes Bentley and Karl Urban as brothers. Bentley’s character Jack owns the local mill. It is the story of a boy named Pete who runs away and befriends a magical, unseen to all dragon named Elliot.
The teaser that was presented was very brief. We see Howard’s Grace and Redford’s Mr. Meacham, her father, talking about the little boy in the woods, surprised that he could have survived in the forest for so long, but Grace knows he wasn’t alone out there. And there’s a drawing that Pete made of his dragon. We also see a hand in brown fur.
Pete’s Dragon opens August 12th, 2016.
"I was incredibly moved, theres a power in this story…& it's something I'm so proud to share with my kids." -Bryce Dallas Howard #D23Expo
