Last week on The Strain, we met newly elevated Kelly Goodweather’s (Natalie Brown) scuttling vampre kids, and nobody could catch or kill them. Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) and Nora (Mia Maestro) get Fet (Kevin Durand)out of jail, and all three are recruited to help the “clean Red Hook phase.” I really think they are going through with the budding romance story between Palmer (Jonathan Hyde), and Coco (Lizzie Brocheré), and I don’t like it. I’m waiting for her agenda to appear.

The Strain 2.6 “Identity” review: Intriguing beginning… and explosive ending. Seriously, everybody gets some action (not the sexy kind – okay, maybe one of them gets the sexy kind) this episode.

A new elder pops out of a refrigerated truck and doesn’t drop dead. Thank goodness! I don’t think these humans can really take care of this. They need serious help.

Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) goes to Washington DC, to mass produce the virus that will kill the vampires. It’s not as harried or dangerous as NYC, but there is a funny moment, when the news came on and said a fistfight broke out in Congress. He finds an old friend and makes a new contact, but the Palmer reach is far and wide. BTW, Eph is a dog. You’ll see.

Fitzwilliam comes to the hideout, and is introduced to Nora and Zach, who is as pleasant as he usually is. I know the kid is in the middle of a tragedy, but he does remind one of seasons 1 and 2 Carl of TWD, when he was super annoying. At least he hugged Nora. That was redeeming. Fitzwilliam tells Setrakian and Fet of Palmer’s ultimate goal. “He believes he’s going to be the Master’s partner.” I mean, we knew that already. It just wasn’t spelled out so clearly before. He is burdened, but you will see his burden lifted by the end of this episode. And the surprising action by Setrakian.

Gus goes to see Felix, who denies being Angel, until he flips out on him. They end up fighting vamps together.

Momma Goodweather and her little minions find Nora and Zach, and there is a running, hiding, shoot-em-up through church scene.

The Master finally changes bodies. Whom do you think he chose?

Richard Sammel deserves an Emmy. I don’t care, he’s fantastic.

The Strain – Next On: Identity

Eph concocts a plan to make and distribute a bioweapon. Gus realizes Angel can be an unlikely ally, and Kelly comes after Nora and Zack.
