The Bastard Executioner First Look

“I’m the knight you sent to his death at the hands of the hoarding Scots.”

FX has released The Bastard Executioner “First Look” which brings some familiar cast interviews in with some new ones, along with scenes never spotted before. This period drama, set durng the reign of King Edward I, is about a war weary soldier, who is forced to pick up a sword again.

Check out the video below.

The video has snippets of interviews from Lee Jones (Wilkin Brattle), Elen Rhys (Petra Brattle), Kurt Sutter (The Dark Mute), Katey Sagal (Annora of the Alders), Stephen Moyer (Miles Corbett), and Flora Spencer-Longhurst (Lady Love Ventris). The body count is high in the video alone, so you know this is going to be a bloody mess of evisceration and chaos.

The Bastard Executioner premieres Tuesday, September 15th on FX.

FX’s synopsis:

The Bastard Executioner is a blood-soaked, medieval epic that tells the story of Wilkin Brattle, a 14th century warrior, whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner. Set in northern Wales during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval, Wilkin must walk a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving a mysterious destiny.

Guided by Annora, a mystical healer whose seeming omniscience keeps Wilkin under her sway; manipulated by Milus Corbett, a devious Chamberlain with grand political aspirations; and driven by a deepening connection with the Baroness Lady Love, Wilkin struggles to navigate political, emotional and supernal pitfalls in his quest to understand his greater purpose.
