‘The Hateful Eight’ Posters: Seven Cold Characters
  |  @   |

Following the release of the first trailer, The Weinstein Company has released seven new character posters for Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight. The film is Tarantino’s eighth directorial effort, takes us back to a few years after the Civil War (no not the Captain America movie), and sees a bounty hunter John “The Hangman” Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), forced to hunked down with six strangers when a blizzard hits Wyoming.

Check out the full set of posters below.

All seven posters debuted on Facebook earlier yesterday. We recently got a good look at the film during Comic-Con earlier this year, where Tarantino reiterated that the film was shot on 70 mm, and used the same lenses that filmed Ben-Hur, The Battle of the Bulge, Mutiny on the Bounty, and It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The “Ultra Panavision 70” on the lower right hand corner assures us that you will be able to see the film in 70mm, hopefully you are one of the lucky ones who can see it in that format in one of the 50 theaters he is retrofitting.

Other than that, these are just your average character posters, each one of them identified with a different tally mark and personal monkier.

The Hateful Eight also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, and Demian Bichir, and opens in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25.

In THE HATEFUL EIGHT, set six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as “The Hangman,” will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie’s, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Bichir), who’s taking care of Minnie’s while she’s visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all”¦
