Back in July we found out that Star Trek Beyond, the third entry in the rebooted Star Trek movie franchise, was doing a contest for a chance to win a role in the movie (similar to what former Trek director J.J. Abrams and company did for Star Wars: The Force Awakens) all in the name of charity.
That contest is in its last week, and to make the final stretch special it was decided to dedicate the week to the great Leonard Nimoy, the Star Trek legend who sadly passed away back in February. The contest benefits many charities but in order to honor Nimoy, a charity that he cared deeply for, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, is being spotlighted.
A short video was released to announce the news and remember Nimoy, with current Spock actor Zachary Quinto fittingly front and center. You can watch the video below.
With the 50th anniversary of Star Trek on the horizon, you and a friend will make franchise history as the first fans ever to win walk on roles in a Star Trek movie. You’ll fly to the closed set of Star Trek Beyond and hang with the cast before hair, makeup, and wardrobe get you into character for the role of a lifetime. In addition to the grand prize winner, six additional winners will be randomly selected each week to form our Star Trek: To Boldly Go crew. As a member of the honorary crew, you’ll visit the set, meet the cast, and be among the first to witness scenes from the latest voyage of the USS Enterprise.
Live long and prosper.

In addition to the grand prize of a walk-on role in Star Trek Beyond, each week we’re randomly selecting an additional winner to join the To Boldly Go Crew. The members of this honorary crew will visit the set, hang with the cast, and watch as they film scenes from the new film.
Every $10 entry supports nine global organizations each nominated by members of the cast. Check out other once-in-a-lifetime experiences at omaze.com.
