‘Star Wars’ Fan Film Follows Boba Fett After Escaping The Sarlacc (Video)
  |  @   |

A new fan film has surfaced set in the beloved Star Wars universe. It follows Boba Fett (his backpack has jets, you know) after his life took a bit of a turn for the worse in Return of the Jedi and he ended up in the belly of a sarlacc.

The short film (and I do mean short) picks up after the bounty hunter has miraculously found a way to escape the beast and is on to his next move. And while very short, it is an impressive achievement for a fan film. You can read a brief description and check out the short below.

Here’s a description of the short fan film, as well as a rundown of everyone who worked on it:

After being trapped for 30 years in the Great Pit of Carkoon, infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett makes a death defying escape and finds himself fighting alongside the Rebellion to establish a New Republic.

Director: Eric Demeusy
Producer: Demeusy Pictures
Writers: Eric Demeusy, Jason Mitcheltree
Director of Photography: Jason Mitcheltree
Assistant Camera: Melissa Kohler
Jib Operator: Jose Diaz-Oldenburg
Visual Effects: Eric Demeusy
Compositor: Evan Langley
Special Thanks: Skyward VFX

Whether this is just a one-off deal or the first in a series of shorts or a teaser for a larger fan film I can’t say for sure. You would think it was given the length, but only time will tell for sure. But again, despite its length it is impressive being fan made and all.

While not confirmed yet, one of the standalone spinoff Star Wars movies is thought to be centered around Boba Fett. There have been rumors that it will be the second Star Wars Anthology installment after Rogue One. But for now, we have this.
