James Spader has played a great deal of roles throughout his career from dramas to comedies to a mix of both. Some of The Blacklist actor’s most memorable roles have come in the past few years where he played Robert California as a possible replacement after Michael Scott on TV’s The Office. So while the show has been over for just a couple of years, what if his personality lived on in the form of Ultron, his title villain from the popular Marvel film, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
With a mash-up this humorous and obvious, it was only a matter of time before someone got the idea to combine the two, and now there is a video just for it. Check out the hilarious video here below.
Thanks to Red Letter Media for this “Ultron California” mash-up video.
Luckily Spader was on The Office for 25 episodes, so there was plenty of material to grab from for this mash-up to happen. And it works. Instead of sounding like a philosophical villain, Ultron sounds more cool and composed with the right amount of wackiness to make you laugh. But Red Letter Media didn’t just simply take random pieces of California’s dialogue and replace it with Ultron’s lines; the Avengers’ reaction to what California is saying is priceless. Especially when Thor asks Ultron if “that is the best he can do?” But the best part is when Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America confront Ultron’s newest form for the first time in the shipyard in South Africa, and one of Ultron’s responses is “I’m the f*cking lizard king.” It’s just hilarious, and definitely worth your time.
