Last week on Once Upon A Time, the story alternated between current day Storybrooke and 6 weeks ago Camelot. Nobody kows what happened but the dramatic irony is unfolding for the viewers. In Camelot, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) gives Regina (Lana Parilla) the Dark One’s knife for safekeeping, and she claims to be the savior they have been waiting for to free Merlin from the tree. Percival finds out the truth and tries to kill Regina, but is stopped and killed by David (Josh Dallas) at the ball. In Storybrooke, Robin (Sean Maguire) is carried away by a Fury as a death payment for the Underworld, but don’t worry. He is saved at the last minute.

Once Upon A Time 5.3 “Siege Perilous” review: David is freaking out because he feels powerless to help Emma. He is only happy (both now and 6 weeks ago) with his budding bromance with King Arthur (Liam Garrigan). They are searching in both times. Presently, they are searching for who stole Arthur’s magical artifacts. They do find out who took them, and then we find out who really took them. David is in really scary peril while tryig to find the Crimson Crown (can help them speak through realms -therefore it can help them speak to Merlin).

Emma is trying to creatively remove Excaliber from the stone. She tries to entice Hook, but he’s not biting. Turns out, he’s not the hero she truly needs, which makes me feel sad for Hook (she’s using him while asking him to trust her). She really needs Mr. Gold – neither good nor bad. The way Arthur is acting, I don’t think even he could pull it out now.

Lancelot (Sinqua Walls) returns (but I though he was dead?), to warn Snow about Arthur.

And it’s true. Arthur is crazy. He made his squire kill himself. I can’t figure out his real motivation.

Lots more Robert Carlyle this episode which is delightful.

I am really feeling bad for Zelena (Rebecca Mader) who wants this baby so someone will love her.

Once Upon A Time is doing a really good job in keeping the mystery mysterious. I really have not called a correct move since the season began. I thought I would be annoyed, but it’s refreshing. When you watch the crazy amounts of television I do, you more often than not, start to predict correctly.

Once Upon A Time airs Sunday nights at 8pm ET on ABC.
