Last week on iZombie, a rich, high society chick bit the dust, so Liv (Rose McIver) got her fashion on. Liv was so lonely (nobody remembered her birthday), she accidentally befriended the stylist murderer. Major is so lonely he sleeps with Gilda (Leann Lapp), Vaughn du Clark’s daughter, both of whom are blackmailing him into murdering innocent zombies. Not good. Peyton (Aly Michalka) returned after fleeing from zombie discovery freakout. She snuck a birthday cake in Liv’s fridge. Very sweet. Vaughn keeps a zombie doctor locked up in the Max Rager basement. Yep.

Spoilers below.

iZombie 2.4 “Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues” review: Yay! Blaine’s back! He is very disturbed by his missing clients. Dramatic irony much? I wonder how long it will be before he finds out that his old nemesis Major is doing it. He is a very busy ex-zombie, also searching for the tainted Utopium formula. On top of all that, he spills his guts about Stacy Boss to assistant DA Peyton. Of course it is for purely selfish reasons. He wants to take over as Seattle’s crime lord. Except… that he and Peyton have real chemistry! Double yay!

Yeah baby! Clive has a little love interest. There’s a bit of sparks going on with the visiting FBI agent! Finally Malcolm Goodwin gets to do other things than question suspects and act surprised by Liv’s actions.

There is a light at the end of the dismal Major tunnel. He goes to score drugs, and one of his old kids is the dealer. The look on his face when the boy recognizes him is devastating. I hope this plus the two dressing downs he gets from Ravi and Liv, start his turnaround.

Rose McIver has a pretty little country voice. It’s sweet that cowboy Ravi showed up to video her heartfelt performance, a song about letting Major go. You know that old saying though. “If you love something, set it free…” Works every time. That last scene was… yes!

Although we know what’s going to happen once Major realizes who her new roommate is.

Ravi named the dog, Minor – tee-hee.

Good episode once again, specially because everyone got some play, and Blaine was in it once more. Love him! The murder was the background as per usual. This show doesn’t even need the mystery in it. These guys can entertain all on their own without it.

iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9pm ET on The CW.
