Here’s What Fencers Having A ‘Star Wars’ Lightsaber Duel Looks Like (Video)
  |  @   |

Back in July, a little bit after fans waved their own plastic lightsabers in the air during a special Star Wars concert at San Diego Comic-Con, the Fencing Senior World Championships 2015 were happening in Moscow.

During the competition, a special lightsaber duel show was put on by the School of Saberfighting, a group that specializes in Star Wars-inspired duels that includes fencing champions. You can watch the duel in the video below.

While the actual duel is fun to watch, the lack of a crowd definitely does some damage to the overall excitement of the video. So to fix that, someone actually added Star Wars sound effects and music in a second video you can also watch below.

Now they just need some fancy transforming ‘sabers for their next battle.

School of Saberfighting is one of the first teams in the world that specialises in public performance of duels inspired by Star Wars, and also provides training for those who wish to learn this form of stage fencing.
Many of our trainees have won the highest stage fencing athletic titles in various Russian championships, and acted in fencing combat scenes in theatre and films. They also collaborated with a Combat Choreographer from Hollywood, and performed during the World Fencing Championship 2015.
