So unless you’ve been living under a rock all year, you’ve heard about or bore witness to the disaster that was Fantastic Four (aka Fant4stic); a movie so bad it registered a whopping 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, and got its director basically blacklisted from Hollywood. This is what Honest Trailers were made for! Screen Junkies narrator Jon Bailey even posts the career-ruining tweet in the introduction.
Check out the Honest Trailer below.
Really, what more is there to pick on that hasn’t been stirred up already. The terrible acting, the characters who refuse to acknowledge their superhero names, The Thing not wearing pants and having no genitalia, and Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, who ignites… internet comment sections… because he’s black. And I thought after Michael Clarke Duncan played Kingpin over a decade ago we were past all that nonsense.
The biggest joke is Dr. Doom, who, according to Bailey looks like a grown up sex doll while doing bad Ghostbusters impressions… “There is no Victor, only Doom”… YES, that is a line in this movie. When my wife heard it, she sarcastically chuckled and said “No, really?” Yes… Really. We even get some Entertainment news footage covering the trainwreck shoot in which Fox basically pulled director Josh Trank mid production. Bailey hits it dead on point when he says that “the movie about the making of this movie would be better than this movie.” I for one, would buy tickets early to THAT.
St4rring… “Were you stretching or were you dragging” (a reference to Whiplash, where Miles Teller is constantly asked that by abusive orchestra leader JK Simmons), two Wasted House of Cards actors, and Crash Test Doomy (he really does look awful). New Title: Fantastic Four: Strike Three.
Starting Wednesday at midnight, you can get full access to Screen Junkies Plus for the whole Thanksgiving weekend and watch all their new shows.
Screen Junkies currently has just under 5 million subscribers on YouTube and releases a new Honest Trailer every Tuesday.
