Last week on Gotham, Selina and Bruce (Camren Bicondova and David Mazouz) play Silver by hiring Tommy Flanagan from SOA to pretend to torture Bruce for info. She spits out a name, and shows her true colors. There is a really sweet moment between him and Selina. All three of them did a bang up acting job last week. Galavan (James Frain) was set free, because the former mayor recanted and said it was Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) who kidnapped him. He obviously didn’t do it. He and Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) are playing mundane, yet funny roommates. Jim (Ben McKenzie) flipped though. He punched Galavan and got dragged out… by Galavan’s men. Galavan has fighting skills. He told his men to kill Jim, but Penguin saved him. Theo went to Bruce Wayne’s to kidnap the “Son of Gotham” for a deadly monk ritual.

Spoilers below.

Gotham 2.11 “Worse Than A Crime” recap/review: It’s fall finale time! Alfred is running through a garbage dump, with Tabitha on his tail. Bruce is gone. Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) comes out of the basement, having finally fixed the hard drive. Where is everyone? Has he been in the basement all these weeks? I’ve been wondering where he went.

Theo Galavan reveals himself to Bruce, how his family was insulted and degraded, by the Waynes. He gives him the crazy prophecy of the nine, plus the son of Gotham, will put all to rights.

The Dumas will kill Bruce at midnight – the “anointed redeemer.”

Jim wakes up at Nygma’s. Penguin has a proposition since Jim is now a fugitive too. I think Jim should consider it. My favorite moments are the Jim/Penguin teamups.

Silver tries to get out of the ceremony, but Galavan gives her a cruel test. He is a maniac. She is to go to Bruce and keep him company, to make him fall in love with her again, so she can laugh as he dies. Or she dies too. Galavan is more over the edge than I thought. James Frain is the perfect villain.

Bruce sees through her immediately. They share stories, and a ruse. And finally speak truth to each other. Bruce shows what a gentleman he is, helping her out with no expectation in return. And perhaps Silver has some redemption left in her.

Barnes puts Jim’s face on a Wanted poster, and grills Lee. Nygma helps her out. She goes to Penguins lair. Robin Lord Taylor is the definite star of this scene. Utterly riveting. Lee has big news for Jim that may sway him. I kind of knew this was coming because Ben and Morena are a real life item. We know that sway will be short-lived.

Alfred (brought in by the cops), Lucius, and Bullock (Donal Logue) but Nygma has a riddle. Lucius Fox solves it immediately, to Nygma’s (and my) surprise. Cory Michael Smith is this scene-stealer.

The troops arm up. Cat pops in at just the right time, and pulls more than her weight, in the rescue mission.

Jim: “I trust her.”

There is the requisite awesome march to battle.

Two characters jump out the window (okay, one is pushed and one jumps).

Bullock is a hero.

Jim passes the point of no moral return by the end.

This fall finale is super satisfying. There is a conclusion to the Galavan arc (or so we are led to believe). Gotham has just been so much better this season than last, focusing on one big bad
