Zootopia Shakira Try Everything

It’s New Year’s Eve, but that isn’t stopping the news cycle from spinning. And for the Disney marketing team, they are going to change the way we see the day before we ring in the new year with a trailer from Zootopia to help celebrate “Zoo Year’s Eve.”

The studio has released a brand new trailer for the film, unlike the trailer that masqueraded as a clip of the two leads at the DMV – which actually worked if you think about it – this trailer is a mash up of new scenes, complimented with a brand new song “Try Everything,” written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate and performed by Grammy winner Shakira. Check out the new trailer and hear the song below.

As we have reported before, directors Bryon Howard and Rich Moore have modeled the world of Zootopia from our world. Everything you will see in the titular city is functional, and some of it is customized to the size and shape of certain animals. The animal metropolis even has neighborhoods and districts that fit certain climates.

Sure talking animals may be a generic trope for animation, but Disney Animation Studios has always evolved and changed, and looking at Zootopia, they look like they are bringing us a film that is contemporary, something that everyone can relate to, and hopefully everyone will like. Based on our early look at the film, a lot of work went into making this a believable world.

Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin lead the voice cast as a con artist Fox named Nick Wilde and a rookie cop named Judy Hopps, respectively. The rest of the supporting voice cast consists of Alan Tudyk, Bonnie Hunt, Disney, Don Lake, Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Octavia Spencer, Raymond Persi, and Tommy Chong. Zootopia opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together””a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia,” a comedy-adventure directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”), opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
