FOX has formally ordered Prison Break as a limited event series! Back in August they announced the return of the show with its necessary twosome – Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, who currently run hot and cold on The Flash and the soon-to-be DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as Heatwave and Captain Cold.
More on this below.
Fans of the series might be a little confused, as the last scene in the direct to video finale showed Michael (Miller) deceased, but don’t worry. According to FOX TV Group Chairman Dana Walden, there will be…
“a logical and believable explanation to why the characters are alive and still moving around the world. The brothers and some of the iconic characters will be back, and it will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience.”
The show aired for 4 seasons and ended in 2009. No word yet on who else may reprise their roles. Stay tuned.
I’m ready for a Prison Break rewatch party. Who’s with me?
The 8-10 episode limited series of Prison Break will air this year on FOX.
Prison Break synopsis:
How far would you go to save your brother? When Michael Scofield’s brother, Lincoln, is wrongfully sentenced to death, Michael engineers an impossible escape – from the inside out. After a deadly cross – country manhunt leads to a nightmarish Panamanian hellhole, Michael, together with the woman he loves and a band of hardened renegades, must bring down a sinister government organization and somehow manage to stay alive until the day when he can stop running”¦forever.
