Honest Trailer – ‘The Walking Dead’ (Seasons 4 – 6)
  |  @   |

For many, Sunday was Valentine’s Day, but for many others it was the return of The Walking Dead from its midseason hiatus. And according to both the Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons and all of facebook, it was the “Best Episode Ever!” As always, there to capture the pop culture zeitgeist, Screen Junkies dedicated their Honest Trailer to the seasons 4 through 6 of the wildly popular show. Why 4 through 6? Well because they already did a seasons 1-3 HT.

Check out the Honest Trailer for The Walking Dead (Seasons 4-6) below. Also included is the 1-3 video.

In full disclosure… I say this a lot with these HT reviews… I was a HUGE Walking Dead fan. I was there every minute for the first three plus seasons. But then I found myself getting confused and annoyed. There were “things” and “stuff” driving me crazy about the characters, their motivations, their actions and unending stupidity. Things hit a fever pitch during the episode where Hershel is killed. One scene drove me to the boiling point and that was that… I walked out mid episode and never returned. I am fully aware it’s a huge hit and everyone loves it, and I get why, but I no longer am involved. There, I said it… now to the Honest Trailer!

From the network behind some of your favorite shows, spinoffs, and prequels, comes the show so popular that they use it to sell every other show on that network. Hey, it got me to watch Into the Badlands… and I loved that! Narrator Jon Bailey describes The Walking Dead perfectly, so much so that it reminds me of people clinging to the final seasons of Lost… “you’ve sunk so much of your life into it already… So get ready for 8 episodes containing 2 great ones, 2 good ones and 4 hours of nonstop filler.”

Re-meet the characters; Rick, whose personality depends on his beard length, Daryl and Michonne who have the most powerful weapons (fan support), and Carol who went from emotionally scarred wreck to the scariest woman on an Earth filled with zombies. And pay no attention to how every single season has the exact same plot line; heroes find safe haven… safe haven gets destroyed. Seriously they show them all, the CDC, the farmhouse, the prison, Woodbury, Terminus, Alexandria… wherever Negan will inevitably live.

We look back through some of the high and low lights of seasons 4-6 like, a bunch of flu episodes (THAT pissed me off), and a bunch of episodes dedicated to rescuing Beth only for her to be killed. And watch how a show that was edge of your seat viewing because ANYONE could die at ANY moment became the show where NO ONE can die EVER (we’re looking at you Glen).

Plus don’t forget, you can’t be a super hip and trendy show without a super hip and trendy talk show about the show you just watched! Or maybe, you could watch with friends, and talk about it like we used to… before the goddamn Walking Dead.

Starring: More Ugly Cryface, More Improbably Headshots, Mending Fences, Literally Mending Fences (HAH!), Walking, More Walking, A Truly Staggering Amount of Actual Walking, and CORAL… New Title, Yawn of the Dead. I have to say, sometimes being a contrarian is a lonely feeling, but Bailey seems to agree with me.

The Walking Dead is on Sunday nights at 9:00pm ET on AMC.

Screen Junkies have over 5.2 million subscribers on YouTube and release new Honest Trailers every Tuesday.
