Last week on The Flash, Zoom kidnapped Barry (Grant Gustin), and the team of Cisco, Harry, Killer Frost, and Earth-2’s Barry and Iris (Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, Gustin, and Candice Patton) go to get him back. While Barry is locked in the cage, he bonds with Jesse (Violett Beane) and tries to communicate with helmet guy. They succeed in subduing Zoom (mainly Killer Frost did it), and get away. They whoosh back into Earth-1 at the last second, but as the last breach is closing, Zoom’s arm juts out and kills Jay (Teddy Sears), pulling him back with him.

Spoilers below.

The Flash 2.15 “King Shark” review: A little time has passed. The breaches are all closed, and Zoom can’t get back (we hope). Barry and Jesse are really unhappy about that. Caitlin is also not herself, but who could blame her?

The meta I thought was dead is not! King Shark!

“Looks like Bruce has gone belly up.” Nice nod to the nickname for the robot shark from Jaws.

King Shark had been captured by A.R.G.U.S. under Amanda Waller’s watch, but now it’s Arrow’s Lyla’s turn. She and Diggle (David Ramsey) seek out Barry for 2 reasons. The first? Need a meta to conquer a meta. The second? King Shark said so, “Zoom wants The Flash dead.”

Cisco: “We’re gonna need a bigger Flash.” Good one.

Cisco and Caitlyn look up King Shark’s doppelganger wife, and Caitlin is cooolllldd… He used to be a marine biologist. She studies sharks. No coincidence there.

Side note – Cisco offers to upgrade Diggle’s helmet. Can;t wait to see how that translates on Arrow.

Cisco accidentally spills about Killer Frost and Caitlin pulls the rest out of him, reassuring him she will never be a villain.

Harry and Jesse rebond over “Good Will Hunting” formulas.

Barry helps Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) with a project, but things are really tense. Wally is super jealous, since Joe and Iris are Barry cheerleaders. Luckily there is a Man Shark to bust in and wipe that out temporarily. Barry conveniently disappears and faces King Shark. During the aftermath, the family cleans up. Wally wonders why they are not surprised. Iris says weird things are the usual.

“Weirder than a talking shark wearing pants?” He’s got a point.

Barry is beating himself up over what went down on Earth-2. “It’s all my fault. Zoom, King Shark, Jay. I just left an entire world at Zoom’s mercy.” He’s right. he did. And I disagree with Harry. Earth-2 was real and harm for them should be something we worry about.

Cisco: “Just when you think it was safe to go back to the suburbs.” Oh, Cisco. He is bummed he can’t be in the field waiting for a killer man-shark. He wants to be the Quint.

Harry: “You know Quint dies, right?”

Harry and Jessie are second-guessing Cisco. It’s quite the funny scene:

Cisco: “We’re gonna play a game called, you’re from Earth-2, you’re gonna be quiet.”

After a stuffed-with-drugs Flash decoy, and a million trackers, they reel in the shark. Diggle gives Diggle-like advice like Mike Brady or Danny Tanner to Barry. Sorry Diggle, Central City already has good-advice dad in the form of Joe West (Jesse L Martin). Although Earth-1 does have an opening. Too soon?

What the f****!!! The last scene reveals Zoom unmasked. He is Jay Garrick, and yet he is carrying the body of Jay Garrick. Zoom calls it a complication. I call it, Let’s wait and see how The Flash explains this!

I’ll leave you with the exact same questions you all are thinking:

– Is future Jay the dead one?
– Is it his doppelganger (remember the doppleganger’s name was Hunter Zolomon – the comics name for Zoom)?
– Who is helmet guy?
– How will Barry get back to Earth-2 (or Earth 4, 5, 6, etc) to visit Supergirl’s National City?
– I really really hope Barry, Joe, and Supergirl sing together. Okay, that’s not a question.

I started to get slightly annoyed with the rebellious teenager and the tormented hero, but it was a solid episode, and had my all time favorite meta.

The Flash returns March 15th at 8pm ET on The CW.
