‘Finding Dory’ Trailer: Remember That One Time A Fish Swam Her Way Home
  |  @   |

As beautifully animated as Finding Nemo was, the real star of the show was Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres), a regal blue tang fish whose memory lasted as long as she could swim. The character provided the humor in a story about a father searching for his son. But the film didn’t really explore how Dory ended up in Australian waters or how she became so forgetful. Flash forward to 2016, and we are getting a sequel called Finding Dory.

Disney”¢Pixar has just released a new trailer for the film that takes a look at Dory’s journey across the pacific in search for her family. Along the way we see familiar faces, meet new friends, and learn that aquatic animals don’t like to be poked or prodded by human fingers. Check out the full trailer below.

Once again, we are seeing the majestic beauty of the ocean in an animated form, while also learning what “migration” means for those animals that live under the sea. The first film was pretty much a solid hit, and with director Andrew Stanton at the helm again, it looks like Pixar may have another hit.

At the heart of this trailer is when Dory finally meets someone who knows who she is. Destiny (voiced by Kaitlin Olson) is a whale shark who reminds Dory about the days they used to spend telling stories, over and over and over again, you know, because Dory is so forgetful. Other interactions include Dory reacting to Hank (voiced by Ed O’Neill the octopus, who is trying to escape from the aquarium via sink drain.

Albert Brooks will reprise his role voicing Marlin, the clownfish. Newcomers who remembers Dory include: Ty Burrell as Bailey the beluga whale who struggles with his sonar capabilities, and Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy as Dory’s parents Jenny and Charlie.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Disney”¢Pixar’s “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?

Finding Dory splashes into theaters June 17.
