‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Trailer: Batman Takes It Back To 1966
  |  @   |

Last week, the first teaser for The LEGO Batman Movie was released online to much fanfare. It was nearly impossible to contain the overwhelmingly positive reaction that the trailer has sparked. And as such, we are getting yet another teaser that will surely make you giddy. While the first one gave us a look at the Caped Crusader’s beatboxing and mic-dropping skills, along with a small tour of the LEGO Batcave, the newest one gives us a look at Wayne Manor in all its LEGO-built glory, and Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes), who reminds Batman (voiced by Will Arnett) just how many times he has looked at a portrait of him and his parents in the many previous films.

Check it out below.

Based on these trailers, it looks like The LEGO Batman Movie will be meta and recognize the absolute hilarious absurdity that a film based on interlocking building blocks could actually work. It’s a successful formula, and now that it has a spinoff centered around the titular hero, it could use it and make it even funnier by recognizing the other films that came before it, particularly the live-action ones. We’ll have to see how many times it will reference the Batman films that came before it, and hopefully it won’t be something that beats us over the head repeatedly.

Directed by Chris McKay, The LEGO Batman Movie also features the voice talents of Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, and Rosario Dawson.

The LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters on February 10, 2017.

Here’s the plot synopsis:

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure: “The LEGO® Batman Movie.” But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
