Marvel’s Doctor Strange wrapped shooting in New York City this past weekend. Because the scenes that were shot were on the streets of NYC, there are a handful of photos that are now floating around social media.
Of course, these photos are slightly spoilerish — I say slightly only because we don’t know the context of what brought Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) to fight the yet-to-be-revealed lead villain (Mads Mikkelsen).
While we won’t post those photos here, it looks like the fight could end up being the epic climax between the two mystics, and with the addition of VFX, could look a lot like the early concept artwork that we saw at the D23 Expo.
You can find those photos — a lot of them — over at Just Jared. They feature Cumberbatch in full Sorcerer Supreme attire, some of which show the him bloodied, along with a few other characters.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, and also starring Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, and Michael Stuhlbarg, Doctor Strange opens in standard and IMAX theaters on November 4, 2016.
“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
“Doctor Strange” is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3’s goal””over the course of four years and nine films””is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.
