Last summer a limited series prequel to the 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer, which was set on the last day of summer camp in 1981, arrived on Netflix titled Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. The joke being that all of the actors who appeared in the original would be 15 years older despite the show taking place earlier. Now another eight-episode season is officially on the way, this time a sequel.
In the original movie, there’s a scene in which the camp attendees agree to meet back there a decade later to catch up. It took 16 years to get to it, but fans will finally be able to see how that meeting went down. Netflix has confirmed that Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will arrive in 2017.
You can check out a brief confirmation video including the above mentioned scene below.
It’s not confirmed which stars will be returning, but considering everyone from the original movie came back for the limited series last summer, it’s pretty safe to assume all cast and crew, including Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, David Wain, and Michael Showalter are all willing and ready to return for more.

Finally, fans can see what happens to their favorite campers and counselors ten years after the original film in a new Netflix original series “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.” The series will include eight all-new 30-minute episodes and is set to premiere in 2017.
The series will be written by Michael Showalter and David Wain and Wain will direct. Executive Producers for “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later” are Michael Showalter, David Wain, Peter Principato, Jonathan Stern and Howard Bernstein.
