Sure, the Preacher TV series on AMC from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlinlooks pretty great and we’re all very excited to finally check it out this weekend. But Rogen is still best known for his comedy work, so he made sure to put that to use for a Preacher trailer parody starring…you guessed it, Rogen himself.
The video shows the Rogen parody and then a side-by-side with the original trailer. You can check it out below, along with another recently released video offering a peek at a quick but intense car ride involving Tulip O’Hare (played on the show by Ruth Negga).
“Preacher” is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The show stars Dominic Cooper as Reverend Jesse Custer; Joseph Gilgun as the Irish vampire named Cassidy; the aforementioned Negga as Custer’s ex-girlfriend and current companion Tulip O’Hare; and Ian Colletti as the character named Arseface. Other stars include Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke, Derek Wilson, Ian Colletti, and Jackie Earle Haley.
Preacher is set to debut this Sunday night on AMC after Fear the Walking Dead.
