E3 2016: ‘Battlefield 1’ Gameplay Trailer
  |  @   |

To close out their EA Play event, Electronic Arts showed off the latest in one of their biggest franchises, titled Battlefield 1.

While the Call of Duty franchise keeps going into the future—something that has not been all that popular with players—developer DICE is taking the Battlefield franchise way, way back with the game set in World War I. A gameplay trailer for the new game was shown.

You can see the new game in action in the trailer below.

WAR ON AN EPIC SCALE

Take the battle from the scenic Italian coast to the scorching Arabian deserts. Discover classic Battlefield gameplay through an adventure-filled campaign, or squad up and join epic multiplayer battles with up to 64 players.

MASSIVE BEHEMOTHS

Pilot some of the largest vehicles in Battlefield history. Rain down fire from the sky in a gargantuan Airship, tear through the world in the Armored Train, or bombard the land from the sea in the Dreadnought.

THE DAWN OF ALL-OUT-WAR

Experience the origins of modern warfare where the old world was destroyed, giving way to the new one. Use the innovative, modern weaponry and vehicles of World War I as you battle across the land, air and sea.

NO BATTLE IS EVER THE SAME

Dynamic weather and intuitive destruction create an ever-changing landscape. Make your mark on the world with earth-shattering destruction, whether you’re blasting craters in the ground with artillery strikes or ripping apart walls with gunfire.

PUSH THE FRONTLINE

Take part in more meaningful battles with Operations, a new way to experience Battlefield multiplayer. Battle as either the attackers or defenders in a series of inter-connected conflicts spread over multiple maps.

I’ll be honest, I’m awful at Battlefield multiplayer for whatever reason. Even so, this new game looks like a lot of fun. Until I actually play it and die a horrible, horrible death over and over again and throw my controller (gently on to my pillow—those freakin’ things are expensive) in anger. Then I won’t be so excited about it. But thankfully it appears the game, unlike certain others from EA *cough*Battlefront*cough*, will have a single-player campaign at least.

Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21st for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
