E3 2016: Trailer For First-Person ‘Resident Evil 7’
  |  @   |

A trailer was premiered during E3 2016 for the next game in the Resident Evil franchise, titled Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

This is a legendary third-person survival horror series, so you can imagine some mega-fans’ shock to discover that this latest entry is actually a first-person game. One reason for this could be because developer and publisher Capcom wanted to capitalize on the hunger for first-person horror after seeing the public’s response and subsequent devastation over the announcement and eventual cancellation of Konami’s P.T. demo, AKA Silent Hills from Hideo Kojima. Another definite reason is because of the rise of virtual reality. Resident Evil 7 will have an included mode that allows you to play the game using PlayStation VR.

You can watch the first trailer below.

In addition to the trailer, a demo for the game was also made available to PlayStation Plus users. The game will be released early next year PS4, PC, and Xbox One, but I’m not sure if the demo will ever be available for the latter two. So if you really want to see the demo and don’t want to wait to see if you may or may not get the chance to play it yourself, I’ve included one of the many playthroughs you can find on YouTube below.
