Video: Real Pee-Wee Herman Style Breakfast Machine
  |  @   |

As a young child I always loved the beginning of Tim Burton’s Pee-wee’s Big Adventure starring Paul Reubens as the Pee-wee Herman character he’s best known for playing—especially the part where his crazy Rube Goldberg contraption prepares his breakfast for him. I’m still fond of the movie overall to this very day, apart from a certain scene involving a certain sizeably nicknamed truck driver who scarred me for many years. No, I don’t wanna talk about it!

In the video you can check out below, a similar machine has been created that also prepares breakfast for you, just like Pee-wee’s…or for some of you perhaps closer to something you’ve seen in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or Wallace and Gromit. It’s not nearly as elaborate or wacky as Pee-wee’s set up, but it does get the job done.

In addition to the video of this homemade breakfast making machine, I’ve also included the clips from Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Wallace and Gromit for your viewing pleasure.

The ‘Sunday Morning Breakfast Machine’ serves up perfectly runny soft-boiled eggs and toast, tea and coffee and even hands over the morning newspaper – all at the push of a button. Creative Peter Browne, 69, spent about 1,000 hours building the innovative contraption with pal Mervyn Huggett. Retired airline pilot and silversmith Peter says he’s been coming up with inventions his entire life, but this is his pride and joy. He said: “It took a total of 1,000 hours. “It was hard work for three months but it was worth it.

Pee-wee (Paul Reubens) sits down for his morning breakfast, which he tops off with Mr. T cereal.

Breakfast is Wallace and Gromit’s favourite meal. But why bother cooking yourself when you have an “Autochef”, the combined cooker and waiter on wheels? Wallace is anxious to prove that his troublesome invention is perfectly safe around the home. Gromit isn’t so sure about the cheeky robot and he may have good reason to be wary.
