We’ve already seen a couple of teaser trailers for A Monster Calls, which features Liam Neeson as a giant tree monster. Now an excellent official trailer has been released by Focus Features. You can check it out below.

The movie follows a young boy who escapes to a fantasy world while trying to cope with his mother’s sickness and the schoolmates who bully him. It also stars Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Ghostbusters), Lewis MacDougall (Pan), and Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Warcraft).

SYNOPSIS:

A visually spectacular drama from acclaimed director Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible”), based on the award-winning children’s fantasy novel. 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.

Also featuring Liam Neeson who will star in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting monster of the title, and Sigourney Weaver as the maternal grandmother.

A Monster Calls will be released on October 14th.
