My new guilty pleasure (okay, not so guilty) is the “Carpool Karaoke” bit James Corden does on The Late Late Show With James Corden. I’m always checking for guests as a fangirl, like the super awesome time he did it with The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Last night, Corden had the First Lady herself Michelle Obama belt out a tune or two, joining him for his musical ride.

Corden pulls up to the gate of The White House and pretends he is there for a tour. He is the king of acting confused and unaware for comedy. Who should climb into the passenger seat? FLOTUS! Yay! Can you tell I’m a fan?

Mrs. Obama: “I had a little time on my hands.”

She gives him the tour. Of course she wants to listen to music. It’s Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”

“I love Stevie Wonder!” Me too, Michelle.

Corden: “What are you gonna miss?”
Mrs. Obama: “I’m gonna miss the people.”

Next song up is “Single Ladies” by Beyonce, and Corden goes to town. You can tell they have practiced in their own mirrors.

Mrs. Obama: “We were making honey to put in our lemonade!”

They talk about code names. Corden wants a code name, too. You gotta watch to see what he is thinking of calling himself.

Michelle Obama talks about her charity, “Let Girls Learn.”

The message is “Don’t take your education for granted.” Awesome charity. Read more about that on EW. Then they sing the song that was made for the charity, “This Is For My Girls.” And then… Missy Elliot pops up in the back. Mind explosion.
