SDCC 2016 Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Steven Yeun (Glenn) The Walking Dead

Can’t make to San Diego for Comic-Con? Don’t worry, the Syfy channel has you covered. Every night of the 4-day Super Bowl of geek culture, Syfy goes live for an hour, bringing you interviews and footage straight from the SDCC convention floor.

On Friday night’s schedule were some of the biggest stars from the hottest shows on television, including Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Steven Yeun (Glenn) from AMC’s The Walking Dead — a show so big it gets its own mini-con (Walker Stalker) — and most of the key actors from USA’s Emmy-nominated series Mr. Robot, which just began its second season. Hosting for Syfy is Will Arnett (Arrested Development, The Lego Movie).

Entering onto an outdoor stage with tons of screaming fans and cosplayers, Arnett he starts with a Harley Quinn joke (the popular cosplay choice of females).

He is joined by Jamie Alexander (from NBC’s Blindspot), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), and Derek Waters (Drunk History).

Alexander discusses helping land the plane she was on. Yvette Nicole Brown is moderating panels, including a TWD panel and American Gods. We get clips of the new Wonder Woman movie poster posted by Gal Gadot to her Twitter. They discuss the throwback to original color palette. We get a clip of Kristian Nairn (Hodor on Game Of Thrones) deejaying at the Rave of Thrones”¦ yeah that’s a thing, it’s glorious. Today was also the trailer premiere for Season 7 of The Walking Dead featuring King Ezekiel and his pet tiger! “That’s the definition of baller,” according to Arnett. We also get clips of the Luke Cage trailer for the latest Marvel Netflix series.

You can go to Trolli.com to vote for the best cosplayer.

Will Forte from Fox’s The Last Man on Earth is first out amongst the special guests. They greet each other with a big hug and kiss.

The Wills joke about fans confusing them, which is great because when LMOE first started I thought Forte WAS Arnett. Forte walked into his hotel and saw a Ghostbuster who said, “This hotel is clean.”

They even bring up their disaster of a movie, Brothers Solomon, before getting into LMOE. “It’s a great showcase for your hair.” They show the pics of Will Forte’s long 5-month beard, then the pic after he shaved half his head and face.

We then get a Will! Challenge where they play Acronyms.

Arnett: JHAIO – “Just had an interesting orgasm”
Forte: WFIMBF – (Immediately) “Will Forte is my best friend”
Arnett: QRNOT – “Quizznos”¦ really not our thing”
Forte: AAFPL – “An apple falls per lady”
Arnett: YMFW – “Your M***** F***** *******”

Arnett plays with himself”¦ I mean Lego Batman, not, you know”¦

The cast of Mr. Robot joined William Haynes at Petco Park. We got Rami Malek (Elliot), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Portia Doubleday (Angela), Carly Chaikin (Darlene) and Grace Gummer (Agent DiPierro). Malek is asked about the difference from SDCC 15 to 16 and going from virtual unknown show to cultural phenomenon. “The amount of fans who have shown up is pretty remarkable.” Slater is asked what he thought Mr. Robot was about when he was pitched and he confessed he had no clue, but certainly not the show they are doing.

Doubleday added that her mother calls it “I Robot” while Gummer said that many people still think it’s a sci-fi show from the title. They discuss Sam Esmail and his ability to write and direct every episode, and how he is the BIBLE of Mr. Robot. Haynes asks Portia why she hasn’t seen Star Wars, which is a segue to showing the early 80s TV commercial starring Christian Slater! They even pull out the Darth Vader collector case he was advertising for.

Back to Arnett at the Comic-Con stage, with shout outs from Carlton Cuse and Josh Holloway from the series Colony. Then it’s main event time as Daryl and Glenn are here to talk Negan, and TWD Season 7. “Has there been backlash to the cliffhanger ending?” “I’ve lost some family members,” Yeun says. They are currently filming season 7″¦ “Bro to bro, who died?” Norman whispers to him that Jobe died (Jobe was Arnett’s character in Arrested Development.)

We get a shout out to Greg Nicotero for his work making the zombies on the show as well the wax figures for the TWD display at SDCC. Reedus is in a prank war with Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes). It started in Japan when Reedus lied about a Japanese greeting making Lincoln ask where the toilet was very publicly. The video of him filling his AC-vents with glitter has gone viral. About the trailer to season 7, Yeun said that people were screaming and pooping.

In a final bit of fun, Reedus and Yeun are handed their own Lucille bats to beat down two walker pinadas filled with TWD merchandise. “I hope you guys don’t die,” Forte says before signing off the night.
