  |  @   |

Ben Affleck will direct the untitled Batman solo film, Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed today at their panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Affleck, who is currently co-writing the script with Geoff Johns, appeared on the panel, where he compared the project to a great play that’s has been done before. Despite being reinvented and the pressure, he said it’s terrifying yet inspiring to do it among his fellow DCEU filmmakers.

The actor, who starred as the Caped Crusader in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman, has been rumored as the selected director for the solo film, which is also rumored to take place in Arkham Asylum.

Also on the panel:

Wonder Woman Patty Jenkins, who said that it’s long overdue for women to direct superhero movies and she’s excited to be a part of [the DCEU films].

The Flash director Rick Fukiyama, who said that this is his first SDCC, and had to pull out his Flash Underoos. He said was glad to be adding a new voice to the comic book world.

Aquaman director James Wan said he was excited to finally be in a Hall H panel. He loves the fact that Aquaman has never been a part of a feature films and excited to show audiences Atlantis.

We’re currently at the WB panel in Hall H, which is still in progress, so keep it at Geeks Of Doom as we bring you news all day from SDCC.
