The Bourne Trilogy Gets The Honest Trailers Treatment
  |  @   |

A few days late recovering from San Diego Comic-Con, the gang at Screen Junkies are back to work, and this week’s Honest Trailer is a package deal, three for one, all Bourne all the time! Prepping for the release of the new film Jason Bourne, in which Matt Damon returns to the character he first played more than a decade ago, narrator Jon Bailey and the SJ crew squeeze three kickass action flicks into one kickass 5-minute Honest Trailer. It covers Bourne Identity (2002), Bourne Supremacy (2004), and Bourne Ultimatum (2007)… sorry Jeremy Renner, but Bourne Legacy (2012) just didn’t cut it.

Check out the Honest Trailers video here below.

Go back in time when people doubted Matt Damon as an action star, because who would’ve believed Will Hunting could kick so much butt? And revel at one of the only action series that is grounded in realism”¦ and SHAKY CAM. Witness an action hero who combines Liam Neeson’s particular set of skills with Dory’s brain function. Despite not knowing who he is, Bourne remembers the important stuff, like how to kill people with school supplies and his patented move, the “come alone, slip away.”

Bailey describes the differences between the films… all are very similar as Bourne tries to figure out who he is, why he is who he is, and who made him who he is… all the while having cool car chases, running from a control room full of people on computers, and finding that the crooked government guy chasing him is a patsy for someone else. Look, the best sequels just kinda redo the originals, so who cares if these plots are basically the same.

Starring: Jason Bahn (Boston accent), Grumpy Old Men, 10 Things I Hate About Spies (Julia Stiles), Tactical Monocle-ing, People Saying “Asset,” and Like, a Million Turtlenecks… new title: Finding Bourney (Ha!).

Screen Junkies haws almost 5.6 million subscribers on YouTube and release new Honest Trailers on Tuesdays. Jason Bourne opens in theaters everywhere on Friday, July 29, 2016.
