Sony Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for Inferno, the third installment in director Ron Howard’s Robert Langdon film franchise, starring Tom Hanks.
Watch the new teaser, titled “Unlock the Mystery,” here below, along with the recently released official full trailer and IMAX trailer.
Inferno follows up 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons, both also based on Brown’s books and starring Hanks in the lead role.
Based on the best-selling novel by Dan Brown, Inferno sees the return of symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), who’s now suffering from amnesia. But even at this disadvantage, the world’s greatest mind must work to stop a terrorist (Ben Foster as Bertrand Zobrist), whose tactics are inspired Dante’s 14th-century literary masterpiece Inferno. On the case with Langdon this time around is Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor who tries to help him regain his memories.
Starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster, and Sidse Babett Knudsen, Inferno hits theaters on October 28, 2016.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Academy Award® winner Ron Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s (Da Vinci Code) billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (again played by Tom Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.
