Video: Obi-Wan Kenobi ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff Fan Trailer

Some Star Wars fans want to see one of the spinoff movies focus on the Obi-Wan Kenobi character played in the original trilogy by Alec Guinness, and played in the prequel trilogy by Ewan McGregor.

Instead of waiting to see if the character will eventually gets a spinoff, these fans, Rich Williamson and Paul Holub, created a fan made teaser trailer for their own Obi-Wan spinoff titled Kenobi: A Star Wars Story, which also “stars” McGregor.

You can watch the fan trailer below.

McGregor has said in the past that he would be interested in playing the character again at some point:

“I’d very much like to do one too. I think the story between Episode III and Episode IV, I think there’s a story there. I think that’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, if there is one. The one that bridges my Obi-Wan Kenobi and Alec’s Obi-Wan Kenobi because there’s a””I don’t know how long he’s in the desert there, but it’s got to be twenty or thirty years.”

And if you’re wondering, most of the footage that makes up this trailer doesn’t come from anything Star Wars related. It comes from a movie McGregor starred in titled Last Days in the Desert, in which he plays Jesus Christ.

As far as real Star Wars spinoff movies go, the first will be Rogue One. After that comes Episode VIII, and then the second spinoff movie, the currently untitled young Han Solo movie.
