Thor’s Absence In ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Explained In Mockumentary (Video)
  |  @   |

During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Marvel Studios’ panel had a Thor presentation full of concept art briefly showing the world outside of Earth and Asgard. We know that a large chunk of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok will take place outside of Earth and will also be a buddy film that sees Thor and Hulk traveling the cosmos to fight Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Asgardian god of death.

But before that presentation, the studio kindly showed us a hilarious mockumentary that followed what Thor did while Captain America and Iron Man were recruiting and fighting each other in Captain America: Civil War. Most of the time, any footage shown at these presentations is reserved for those who attended the event. But now just in time to celebrate the release of Captain America: Civil War on Blu-ray and Digital HD, the studio has released that video. So for a few laughs, check out the video here below.

The video first appeared on the Marvel Studios’ Twitter Page. So just in case you can’t watch the embedded video, the mockumentary details what exactly Thor was doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War. It seems fitting that Thor would be taking a vacation in Australia, seeing that Chris Hemsworth is a native of that country, and I’m sure that the fact that Thor: Ragnarok was shooting there had nothing to do with it either. So while Cap and Iron Man were doing their thing, Thor was rooming with a guy Daryl Jacobson in a small flat. In between the time that he is trying to invite himself to join either Cap or Iron Man, Thor is teaching school kids about the members of the Avengers, and is trying to find out what the Infinity Stones are like some sort of crazed conspiracy theorist who connects the dots with red strings and such. He even shares some coffee with Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to ask him if Tony or Steve contacted him, and what comes next only adds to the hilarity.

Again, it’s unlikely that we will get to see any sizzle reels or trailers from the film, but this mockumentary, which will be a part of the bonus features for Captain America: Civil War, is a nice gesture that should hold us over until a teaser trailer or an official set image appears.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters next year on November 3, 2017. Captain America: Civil War arrives in Digital HD on September 2, and Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 13, 2016.

Just in case you can’t see the Twitter video, we’ve also got the Facebook embed.
