‘Friday The 13th’ Game PAX West Trailer and Full Panel
  |  @   |

The Friday the 13th video game, officially titled Friday the 13th: The Game, was on hand at the PAX West convention.

A new trailer for the game was shared with the masses there, followed by a panel that ran about an hour long. Among those taking part in the panel was the great Tom Savini, who worked on some of the old movies and helped out with making the game.

Click on over to the other side to watch both the new trailer and the full PAX West panel if interested.

What is Friday the 13th: The Game?

Friday the 13th: The Game is one of the most highly-anticipated horror titles of all time. You will finally be able to take on the roll as Jason Voorhees and Camp Crystal Lake counselors. This is the game you’ve been waiting for; the chance to kill or be killed on Friday the 13th!

Gameplay

Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.

Play as Jason Voorhees!

For the first time ever, you will have the opportunity to play as Jason Voorhees, the most famous killer in horror. Stalk your prey and ambush them whenever you see fit. Friday the 13th: The Game will include a variety of kills, new and familiar. You’ll even get to unlock various Jason incarnations from the movies as well as two entirely new designs never before seen.

How Will You Survive?

The entire focus of Friday the 13th: The Game is multiplayer. Survival is entirely up to you as you either stealthily hide from Jason or work together as a team to escape. Think you can take Jason on? You and the other counselors will have that chance as well. Be warned though, nothing is ever certain and no one is ever safe!

Camp Crystal Lake in All Its Glory.

Mirroring Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th series, players will try to survive in a camp ground setting. Complete with a lake, cabins, and crazed killer who won’t stop until you die a gruesome death.

Be Kind. Rewind.

Every aspect of Friday the 13th: The Game is drawn straight from movies you know and love. We’ve carefully crafted this world to remind you of everything you remember about Friday the 13th, right down to the visual fidelity of the 80’s. This is exactly how you remember it.

You can see more gameplay and trailers right here if you missed them.

If you’re interested in watching the full panel below, you can skip the trailer. They kick off the panel with it, including crowd reaction, which is always fun. The panel begins at around the 10:24 mark, so you’ll want to skip ahead after pushing play.

Oh, and fair warning: the trailer below is incredibly violent, as any fan of Friday the 13th would expect it to be. In fact, though it is called a trailer, it’s actually just a display of a few of the brutal kills you’ll experience while playing if you get caught by Jason, or do the catching as Jason. One would assume that anyone who might be offended by such things wouldn’t be watching this in the first place. It is no secret at all what Friday the 13th is all about. But I’ve seen people in the YouTube comments calling it out for being too violent, so apparently there are some who still need a big flashing sign. So here it is: if little digital people being utterly destroyed by a bigger digital killing machine offends you in any way, you should avoid these videos.
